A week ago, I went on a dinner date with my bf. We went to Las Iguanas, a relatively new restaurant here in York. It was really fab. Being a vegetarian, I’m used to picking from about three options (all with goats cheese, obviously), but there was a whole menu to choose from and I love mexican cuisine so it took me ages. Food, drinks and service were all excellent. Highly recommend.

This is what I wore. I spent an hour deciding what to wear, created a huge pile of clothes on the floor and eventually stuck with this. The Killstar top, Disturbia bomber jacket and Topshop shoes are new, and the Lip Service vinyl trousers are older, but I’ve never actually worn them before. They were shipped from America and when I got them they didn’t really fit (they didn’t go all the way up!), so I didn’t bother returning them and they just got hung up on my wardrobe. I pulled them out and gave them a try and somehow they fit me this time.

I love the bomber jacket – it’s really lovely to wear and the style is really in fashion at the moment, so it’s nice to have a darker version of the mainstream trends. The only thing I regret is that it doesn’t have pockets to shove my hands in!

The Killstar top is really cool. There’s a black version as well, but I went for this grey version. The back detailing is awesome and it makes me want to not wear a bra with it, but I’m not brave enough for that. I need a stick on bra or nipple pasties or something, but for date night I went with this Topshop bra that has a bit of strappy detailing.

I’ve bought a couple of new pairs of shoes recently, including these Topshop slingback shoes. I had destroyed my little toes on another pair I was wearing during the day, so they were plastered up and I was a little bit apprehensive about how well these shoes would go down. Luckily, they are really comfy to wear and I didn’t have any problems at all!

Do you have a favourite “date night” look?
